Check the US News and World Report for average SAT scores of students admitted into each college. Each one has their own standard.

It's not true that SAT or ACT scores don't count....usually it's a sliding scale between grades and scores (then also activites).

I got accepted into Buff State, UB and Fredonia with a 490, 510, and 520 on the different parts of the SAT.

My counselor told me that most colleges don't really look at SAT scores. As long as your grades are decent, I'm sure you'll have no problem.

It varies, depending on the university. Each one is different. For example, Binghamton is fairly competitive, others less-so.
