If something is colorless, it has no color and therefore, is black or transparent depending on it's state (solid, liquid, gas)

The term Colorless is mostly used in the context of clarity of glass, diamonds etc. A piece of glass is considered colorless if it allows light to pass through it with out significant absorption. A closely related term "achromatic" is defined as: Designating color perceived to have zero saturation and therefore no hue, such as neutral grays, white, or black. Hope that helps.

if something is colorless in science, it means that it's transparent, hydrogen at room temperture is labeled as colorless, meaning that we can't see it, and that is y colorless means transparent
