I have heard of false pregnancys before but never new of one. Did the doctors do a sonagram on her before the pregnancy? Did she miscarry? Did she notify her doctor of the bleeding. Nobody can really tell you an answer to this unless they are a doctor though.

There's this thing called pseudopregnancy, where a woman believes she's pregnant so much that she will have symptoms, and even lactate. But, I've never heard of anyone going into labor and getting that "far along in pregnancy" without a sonogram to confirm the growth of the baby. If her doctor told her she was pregnant and she went through regular prenatal checkups, she should sue that OB for malpractice.

You described bleeding that sounds very much like a miscarriage. She should have gone in to be checked, and had a D & C done to clear out the old tissues. The "labor pains" could be the result of a terrible infection (but I'm not a doctor, so please don't take all of this as the only truth here). She still needs to get checked out in case there was damage done to her tubes and/or other reproductive organs.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.

I am sorry to say, she had a very incompetent doctor. They are supposed to check the baby every month, at least to hear the heartbeat. Most likely she lost her baby at some point, and the doctor didn't notice. That is mal-practice!

It's common to still have some pregnancy symptoms while not pregnant anymore. If she miscarried, but maybe not ALL the reminents were expelled from her body which tricked it to think it is still pregnant.

i beleive if she lost the baby early on and she didnt know, she had all the sympotoms because she beleived so much she was pregnant.your body will react to whatever your mind truelly beleives. she may have lost the baby very very early in the pregnancy and didnt notice....and the blood clots later on in her 5th could have been damage from the miscarriage. but for her not to notice she would have had to lose her baby in her 2month at the very very latest.i know it just seems so impossible but the human body is capable of so many things and performs so many miracles anything could have happened. i suggest she talks to more than one professional about it. my friend lost her baby just the other day. she called me and told me she was clotting and i told her to go to the emergency room immediately. once she came back she told me she lost her. so i imagine the clotting your friend had was the miscarriage but if it was in her 5th month and she had a miscarriage she would have seem the baby and she definately would have noticed. so i would say talk to a few professionals there has to be some kind of explaination.

That is so interesting. I would to hear more about this story. Did she feel the baby move after the bleeding at 5 months?
