Yes, it can be washed away, especially if you use chlorine bleach. There may be a detectible residue left behind, but the DNA would be too degraded for testing using currently available methods.

I don't believe that it could go away that easily. There have been cases where people have tried to wash their clothes after a murder and they hung it up in their closet for years and still DNA was found on it. Even if the DNA is washed from it, traces of what DNA leaves behind can still be found. Technology these days is magnificent...you didn't murder anyone did you? Because I am not going to give you any tips on how to get DNA out of clothing!

Depends on what type of DNA.
Spit on someone? Yeah, its off in the wash.
Dropped a load, ala Clinton, on a blue dress?? Mostly likely will still come off.
Killed someone and have their blood all over your shirt?? Probably not going to come out - unless you bleach the hell out of it, which would significantly kill most of the DNA present....
Good luck!

I think that you have to wash it MANY times to get all of the DNA out, but it probably won't last forever.
It depends on the detergent you use, the fabric, as well as other factors.

if dna, you mean blood, the actual identifying agent may be washed out but they can still find the blood trace but not be able to pull dna out.
semen, yeah, washed
hair, washable
saliva, washable
blood will even show up after a bleaching, scrubbing, painting.

That is a suspicious question! There are many things that degrade DNA to an unusable point. Bleach does a pretty good job.
Now don't you go shooting anyone! ( Smile)

dna would be in skin particles, hair, or blood. so if you launder the clothes, then yeah, it'll wash off.

Please don't go out and kill anyone, but Chlorine Bleach degrades DNA too much for typing. The toss up is it ruins your clothes, lol
