When you think of the world ending, do you just imagine humanity being wiped out? Because we are totally unimportant as far as the world is concerned. Even if we saturated the planet with atomic bombs, chemical and biological weapons, the 'world' would not end. Some life would survive and in time would take back the renewed earth.
Don't bother about humanity, we are a dead end anyway in the evolutionary sense. Take a wider view.

Get a hold of a bible if you can and read Revelation. It's actually hard to understand, but this is for sure; those who are saved will be whisked away in the rapture, those who are not will be stuck here on earth with all the turmoil. Satan already knows that he's going to lose, which is why we see so much suffering and evil doings in the world today. I guarantee you that we are already in end times, the key is to be prepared. Get saved and don't take up any number that resembles 666.

I don't think the world or the human species is going to end. We're going to be here forever. People have been predicting the end of the world for years now, and it hasn't happened any of the times they've said it will.

We'll find out that we are in some kind of Matrix, but not digitally constructed, we'll meet the Player (see David Bohm), so we'll be replaced by another species. If you mean world=mankind.

It will be an Armageddon brought on by our own stupidity. We are so obsessed with war and bombing (not just US but the world) that we will be our own demise.

umm technically the world isnt going to end unless some gigantic and i mean gigantic meteor slams into us and turns us inot space dust, but if you mean like world meaning all life(minus cockroaches and microscopic thingys) I predict world war.
