I don't know if you like or allowed to do this sort of thing...

How about dressing as a southern belle (mostly the hat would be important--my wife says it could be easily gotten at a craft store) and doing your presentation as a tour of your state. You've got to use a sweet southern drawl if you can. Have a powerpoint in the background to tour with, minus the captions--just use it as a slide show. Powerpoints are pretty typical in presentations, but the character portrayal allows you to say a lot of things about cultural aspects of the state most presentations/projects can't do. That should score huge points if done right.

A number of the other suggestions already given are pretty good too.

Maybe you could fashion something to make you look like the state North Carolina and then approach it as a jealous outsider looking in at all the wonderful things that SC has to offer as a state(My mom grew up in Spartanburg and most of her family still lives in state. I feel that there are lots of good things to be said about South Carolina) Good luck!!

If you're project involves history you will want to include SC being the first state to secede from the Union. I've travelled in SC, it is a beautiful state with nice beaches, lots of rural areas. My family seriously considered moving there due to the low cost of owning a beautiful house compared to the northeast.

Put the points you wish to bring out on the fronds of a palmetto tree on a Power Point slide. The palmetto is the symbol of South Carolina.

As someone who lived in SC all his life up until a few years ago, I would suggest you have sound effects in the background, specifically banjos and crickets.
