When I delete the files, then exit internet, upon reentering internet, the files I deleted reappear! i.e. they seem not to delete but hang around until I log back onto internet. Setting for delete each time I log-off do no good.

Thanks very much...

Files in the internet temp files that does not delete is not a good sign. But do this, Go to INTERNET OPTION on your control panel icon, There is two selections that you need to change, first DELETE any cookies then delete any DELETE FILES... (tab) by selecting the check box for offline files. On the history selection change it to 0 (zero). Now in your control panel, select FOLDER OPTIONS, now that I'm telling you is an option that you must change it back to it's original configurations, because leaving this option on, and accidently change (like deleting a wrong file) certain obtions. select view tab, there is a section underneath states "hidden files and folders", select "shows hidden files and folders". Microsoft really don't want you do this but if you have no obtion, they understand.... Now, after you press OK or APPLY, go to the START tab underneath your screen (start button just in case you are wondering is the button thats opens to your Documents, settings, programs, shut downs your computer, etc) and select search, now depending on the OS system you have, you may want to do a file or folder search with the option of selected, while other must be selected in the FOLDER OPTIONS in Control Panel. Type or key in "temp" or "temp files", on your drive, and look and behold, there are several "hidden" folders containing temp files (why the OS would keep such things secretative, is another discussion). ONLY DELETE the files that you need to (press SHIFT and DEL keys, that way the files gets deleted directly out of the hard-drive, so it will not go to the recycling bin.). After that go back to Folder option Go back to "hidden files and folders" selection, change it back to "Do not show hidden files and folders". press OK or apply. restart your computer and see in your temp files if those files do reappear, if not then you are in the good side. if it does it again, check what are those files, write them down, go on the net and do a research on those files. That way you can determine what other options that is avaliable.

Download and install Tweak UI (freeware from the link below). You can set it to clear nearly everything everytime you log off - including all your internet garbage. Be sure to check out the Paranoia tab too!
