Perhaps it was 'inadvertently' deactivated. Sometimes items are shut off temporarily for other programs. Merely check with the administrator to clarify the actions & perhaps it may be reactiviated for your friend. Otherwise, it just may be time for you & your friend to aquire your own Personal Computers!

Apparently, employees have misused the service and it was disconnected. Employees are there to work for the company. That is what they are being paid for not im'ing friends and playing computer games.

no they must have put a ip/domain lock onto it so the firewall blocks it out. they do this with AIM and yahoo messager for our company as well its so people cant use it. they dont want people aiming each other while at work.
