He's a good guy and listens to the people. I don't agree with his politics, but that isn't important right now. The end of the world is near and we need strong leaders, even if he is a bit wet towelish.

Republicans like him since he votes along with them on a lot of issues. Ask yourself a question: If the end of the world is coming, who is enabling it? Still waiting for those wmd's to be discovered.

No one hates Joe. They all are political opportunists that don't have any personal conviction and if they think they can get re-elected by piling on to him they do. By the way Joe voted on the Democrat party line 90% of the time. It is ONLY because he is for the war that the small minded went against him in the primary. Polls indicate that he will win as an independent and keep the senate a Republican majority. Isn't it fun to watch the Democrats eat their own.

Not everyone hates Senator Liberman, it's mostly the Democrats. That's because Senator Liberman has the courage to actually stand up and state his true convictions and make his own decisions. The Democrat leadership can't stand an independent thinker.

Lieberman is not in congress but in the US Senate. The end of the world is hardly near.

However, I will agree with you that Joe Lieberman is very much needed on Capitol Hill. He is disliked by some (not even many) because he is a moderate and the far right and far left aren't too keen about moderates.

Everyone in Congress doesn't hate Joe Lieberman. The Democrats are starting to hate Joe because they see him as a traitor to the party. Mostly, though, they're just worried he's going to win and the Dems will not win control of the Senate.

Most Republicans like him even though he's a Democrat. Democrats don't like him because he was and remains a supporter of the war effort in Iraq and because he has a very close friendship with President Bush.

I like Joe too -- you always know where he stand on issues. He doesn't change with the tide or winds. The dems don't like him because he lost the primary and the republicans don't like him because he's been such a democrat.

Absolutely. The reason for his lack of popularity is that he thinks for himself. I don't necessarily agree with much of his views either, but I respect a man who can take charge and plunge ahead without regard to what the party leaders are dictating. He didn't obey, and they ditched him.

He's hated by the Democrats, his former party, because he stood up and did what HE wanted, and what he thought was right, not what they told him to do. I admire him for being so brave, I hope he wins in November.
