Depends on what the differences are. As long as they are not mutually exclusive, and both of you can fully accept that the other person is different in certain regards, the differences themselves shouldn't matter.

Marriage is all about caring and feeling. Just because his character is different than your own (which most couples are different) that doesnt mean the relationship wont last. My husband is crazy, always being goofy and making faces and jumping around... I LOVE IT. I LMAO all the time when he's around. But he also knows how to be serious.

It is true that opposites attract, but it's not always fair for one of the two to always take the punch. I think that like personalities are best. In my case anyway, my wife and I are almost exactly alike and we've been married almost 17 years and love each other like crazy. So it's depends on how much one is willing to give for the other and how much is the other willing to take before giving.
