I think most people knew the movie would be stupid and that's the appeal. I mean they named it "SNAKES ON A PLANE" for god sakes. It's something that's supposed to be over the top and really bad, which is what makes it appealing. It's a serious "mockery" of all the really bad terrorist/revenge/mob/air plane tragedy movies.
So many movies and actors take themselves far too seriously. When they release a movie they have big premiers and they talk about how hard they worked all the time and money that went into the movie. Samuel L. Jackson has made it clear that this is exactly what the title says. "Snakes on a Plane" Nothing too deep or serious or political. Just mind numbing, stupid and unbelievable plot and...snakes on a plane.

I'm not sure, but it may have something to do with Samuel Jackson starring in the movie and there are no known supporting actors in this film. The movie was decent but very creepy. If you have a phobia of snakes, do not see the movie. There are some very grotesque scenes.

It's just one of those movies where you can scream and watch others jump out their seats. I've seen it, it was crazy. It made you laugh at parts that were not funny, it made jump and scream. Samuel Jackson said in a interview he wanted a fun movie that he used to watch as a kid and he liked doing Snakes, he also said he was'nt expecting an Oscar for it, he wanted a scream and jump out of your seats type movie and he succeded.

You're hearing about the film "everywhere" because behind the film is an aggressive PR/hype team of people who do just that: promote a film. Especially if the film's a lemon.
Asides that: there's nothing special about the film, believe me.

I hate to say this about a movie I haven't seen, but it looks like a waste of time. I'm surprised that Samuel L Jackson is in it. He usually makes good movies.

it started out as a fake movie trailer created by god only knows on the internet---it was one of those clips that everyone would forward to everyone else (some people get "send this to a friend" emails, some people get snakes on a plane trailers!).
so you must not be in the loop if you never got it...Pity, it was clever.

I guess it depends on how deadly the snakes are, but I would NOT recommend seeing that movie in Theatres.
