Well try going on a rampage and smashing it all up. When there is nothing left and you want to, say play football, but you can't because some stupid sod has smashed the goals and stabbed all the footballs don't go whinging that school is cr@p because there is no decent equipment anywhere. Equipment cost loads of money which pupils are allowed to use for free (at least in the UK) It is there for all the pupils to use. When it is gone or busted how is that any use for anyone else? In some countries every bit of school equipment from books to pencils and rulers are paid for by the pupil's families themselves. Maybe we should have that kind of system in our schools. Pupils having to pay for their own school kit would soon respect and look after the equipment they needed to use if they had to pay for it.

As evryone else has said, because we pay for you to use it, not to destroy it! There's also the little matter of the other kids in school who actually want to be taught and learn, and if they have nothing to learn with then they won't know anything!

We could get a bit more abstract here and say that if no one leanrs anything, then the country won't have any skilled workers in the future, our entire economy will go down the tubes and the country's infrastructure (schools, hospitals, transport etc) will fall apart because no one could run them properly.

Is that good enough reasoning? :)

If someone were to use something that was yours, and didn't look after it nor respected the fact that you had maybe worked hard and saved hard for it, and had 'loaned' it to them, then obviously, that would be Ok with you then, eh!

Clearly, the answer would be 'that it would be ok for them to use, abuse and treat it in any way they saw fit,' given your need to ask the question.

I fear for the life and the quality of some children's lives, given the questions put here by those who are potential parents.

Sash.

Teachers only get a small amount of money to buy things each year. If you then break stuff then the rest of the students will suffer. Plus you wouldn't do it at home so don't do it at school.

Because the way you respect others' property says a hell of a lot about what kind of person YOU are.

I'm sure you would like other people to respect your property. For the same reason you should respect the property of other people.

Because it is there for a purpose and was paid for by YOUR parents as well as all the tax payers in the country.
