The first time you only get a warning and a negative evaluation. After three warnings your account will be disabled. Know that the seller has to pay the advertisement, comission and if you pay by PayPal he pays that also. So, don't bid if you don't plan on buying the object!!!

You will be left a negative on your account and in the future can hinder you from buying again.
If something came up that you honestly can't pay for the item, contact the seller and explain why. It costs the seller to list the item and they are still charged whether you buy it or not. They may not leave you a negative if you are upfront with them.
The decent thing to do would be to contact the seller instead of looking like a deadbeat.

You'll get a bad feedback comment from the seller, and a non-payment of item warning from ebay. Not good, if you plan to use the service on a regualr basis.

You will get a Negative star for sure. You can have your account cancelled. And you can be sued if it's a high dollar. as you entered into a legal contract by bidding.
