Love is an abstract thing. Apparently you think a lot of sex in media distorts what love really is but this is just your opinion. Sex being special between a man and a woman is also just your opinion and might have a lot of gay people angry at you for that definition. I think it is just you because everything you state is simply your opinion and thus is just you by definition.

Sex & $ are the false Gods. Every Holy Book of every major world religion taught chastity. We see the result of disobedience to that law in our society today, in the forms of STDs, unwanted children, divorce, poverty, war, etc., etc.
As long as we disobey our Creator (who by the way isn't just a square who doesn't want us to have any fun), who created us, the longer we'll suffer all of the above.
Just as an artist knows everything he puts into a masterpiece, and what will maintain it, and what will destroy it, God knows what went into our creation, and what will be good for us and make us happy, and what will be destructive to us and be the cause of our misery.
We've been given a Book of Instructions (several--in fact, each Holy Book of each religion constitutes a chapter in the one Holy Book of God)--how to care for His creation. We ignore it, laugh at it, deny it, and wonder why the world is in such misery.
The sex act creates the miracle--life! Doesn't that make it kind of a sacred act? Not a recreational sport? The moment of climax is the most vulnerable moment for a human being. They're soul is wide open! We are responsible for each other's souls. If one of the partners is just playing around, and the other one is serious; then the first one takes off, it could result in the suicide of the other one. This can be a life/death issue. So many people are harmed, psychologically, due to casual sex. So much pain, sadness, heartbreak. All because we ignore the Holy Books.
Sounding off can't change a thing. We can only change the world by changing ourselves. We must be constantly seeking truth. When we find it we must apply it to our own lives and to those of our families. We've got to build our lives on the INsides. It's the only way to combat the negativity on the outsides. We've got to teach our children how to do this. This has nothing to to with modern society. This has been God's test for us throughout human history. It's His way of getting our attention.
Every mind is a universe. We all seem to be living in the same world; but, in reality, we're all living in billions of universes (universai?--kidding). As we grow spiritually, our mindworld changes. We really are in this world, but of another world.
I know, it's very sad. But there is a way out of the muck for you and your family. I discovered it 38 years ago when I was asking much the same questions you are asking. Please check out my source; and email me at sharynrichinchina@gmail.com, if you want to.
You and your family are in my prayers; and I hope you will keep me and mine in yours, as well.

The media has a huge advantage in advertising sexual images. Like the saying sex sales. The many ways these business owners can get people's attention is by this. Targeting children is most likely though tv ratings are issued.
