if you are running windows 98 can you convert to windows 2000 on the same computer?

Yes you can upgrade it as long as you have the minimum requirements for 2000. If you have the actual 2000 install disk and not an upgrade, I would recommend a fresh install. With upgrades you tend to bring any problems you have with it. Just my 2 cents.

yes, its very easy, just insert your windows 2000 cd in ur cdrom and follow the instructions, windows 2000 install wizard will give u the option of upgrading or fresh install, select upgrading, the install wizard will alert u if u don't have enough resources (ie disk space, memory or processing speed, but i am sure u do...n/b windows 2000 is a very tight prog, with ur level of expertisei won't recommend it if u are a working in a network environment, u may need to contact ur system administrator... good luck

Yup. Just buy a windows 2000 upgrade on ebay or craigslist and you are set, as long as you have enough power. System requirements would be at www.microsoft.com/windows.

save all your stuff (pic's, doc's, etc.) to a cd/dvd first. if you have the install disk (with the product key) it should go rite over the old sys.
