Sometimes I feel like an 'emotional sponge' because I'm affected by negativity and contention around me. Part of being a Pisces, perhaps.

I think as I get older, I am less affected by the moods of people who I don't really care about (distant coworkers who throw fits, whiny acquaintances, etc) and more influenced by people that I love. I can't count how many times I've been in a great mood on my way home from work and then had a horrible night because my husband is in a bad mood; or how many times I've been cheered up by my immediate co-workers even on an otherwise crappy day.
Also, have you noticed that if you actually take the time to smile at strangers, they'll smile back? It always cheers me up when someone looks happy.

I'm a pisces too, but don't think that your zodiac sign has any control over how you live. Negativity is very contagious. You have to steer away from it and choose to be around positive people. It helps. It's difficult at first, but you will be a happier person in the long run. Trust me!

There's a lot of negative people out there and you'll drive yourself crazy if you're an "emotional sponge" so you should be more like Teflon and let all the negativity slide off! I admit, It's easier said then done.

Pisceans are known for being conformists. Check to see what planet your moon is in. If it is pisces, it is imperative that you get more Gemini friends so that you'll be too engrossed in sponging from their complex personalities to be absorbed by the moods of everyone else around you.

I understand, I am a Cancer and my mood flops with the moon, supposedly. I am trying to be stable in all situations, but I find it hard when the elements of jealousy, gossip, two faced people are surrounding me. I begin to feel negative, moody. I shouldn't but I do.

To some extent yes. If someone around me is in a bad mood, chances are I'm walking on egg shells so I don't piss them off even more

It's me who influences the moods of others; in positive way, I'm proud to say! Don't let others pour their negative upon you, you're not a WC. Work at yourself, that's important; breathe freely!

Oh yeah - I would guess that most people are. I try very hard to be uplifting and positive all the time, but that's difficult when the people around you are negative.

Absolutely... even for a bull-headed Taurus like me. The reason some people always see the glass as half-empty is because their glass is just too darn big! They're ungrateful and greedy... and, unfortunately, misery does love company.

I try not let the people around me affect my mood. I have a great quote hanging @ my desk...
"How can something bother you if you won't let it?"
wheneve something kind of annoys me.. i look @ that. Then I just do it..

I'm a Leo .. so I am usually the vocal one.
