No human would know for sure the "real" meaning of Revelation 13:18. My guess (and that's all that it is, a guess) is that the reference is not to 666 itself but rather an unspecified large number. Back when Revelations was written the Romans were in power and were using Roman numerals. Large numbers would be these long strings of letters. So a slang term for a "large" number would be something like "DCLXVI" which are the first six Roman numerals (a modern equivalent would be "zillions"). DCLXVI happens to equal 666. Someone mentioned 616 which fits that guess since 616 would just omit the L, or "DCXVI". As for what "a large unspecified number" would mean, that would be beyond me.

This isn't a math question, it's a history or religion question, but nevertheless:
Basically, the Number of the Beast, as referred to in the Book of Revelation, has been interpreted many different ways -- some interpret it as standing for a future government, some for a future person, some for a person who's already lived, and some tie it to another concept in the same book, namely the "Mark of the Beast," which the text says will be required for commerce. Many popular interpretations of the Number revolve around Hebrew numerology, and in fact the most popular view among Biblical historians and theologians is that the number was a numerological reference to Nero Caesar.
The difficulty is that Revelation is an apocryphal book -- it's full of symbolism and metaphor that meant something to its immediate intended audience but that others would find difficult to interpret.
In the end, no matter what your belief system, spending too much time worrying about proper interpretation of the apocalyptic symbolism of works like Revelation becomes a distraction from more important matters. Even a Christian, in my not-so-humble opinion :-), should refrain from becoming overly concerned with trying to interpret future events, but rather should turn their concern to their own relationship with the Lord, traveling onward on the path of love, discipleship, and fidelity, being true to the teachings and Spirit of Christ and giving thanks for whatever daily bread is granted by God.
For more info on the many interpretations of the Number of the Beast, though, see the article below. Hope that helps!

In the Bible in the book of Revelation the number 666 is the mark of the beast. I t does not refer to any one indivdual, but rather to those who oppose God and the Church and teach contrary to what is taught in the Bible.
In the Bible, particularly in the book of Revelation the number 7 is used to represent perfection or completeness. Thus, the number 666 is representing something that is falling short of being complete or perfect.
Some have attempted to find a much deeper meaning in the number 666. In fact several months ago on the 6th day of the 6th month in the year 06, there were those who felt it was a day to fear. There is no equation connected to this number.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I've heard that 666 symbolizes the devil because God created the world in 7 days, so 6 represents that which is incomplete or imperfect, i.e., not of God. As for your equation, it's a correct equation. What is the question?
