I've met teenagers more mature and emotionally solid than alot of adults, but on the flip side I've met teenagers that are like two year olds.

I don't think its some magical thing that happens when you get older. Some people mature while others don't. I constantly see adults acting childish and laugh to myself. I generally get in trouble at school because I find my teacher is acting alot like a child.

So, over all your answer can't be a yes or a no one. It varies from person to person. I think some people are mature, while others arn't. I don't think it has much to do with age.

I think that it's a mix of both. Some do grow up and others are overgrown children. But I still think adults have their fare share of childish moments.

Personally, I have grown up, yet I still cling to some bastions of youth that I just can’t walk away from. I think that is the way of many things. Whenever we transition from one state of being to another, we don’t simply end and become anew. We pack a bag, fill it with some cherished objects from the previous state of being and transition into the new state. It gives us a sense of continuity and allows us to greet change instead of fear it.
That being said, though, I packed a really big bag when I moved into adulthood!

I think we simply never stop growing up. We also tend to act like kids sometimes simply because we are so scared of growing up and getting older. Plus just because we grow up and get older doesn't mean we handle certain situations any better. We are all guilty of poor behavior at times.

What does it mean to be "mature"? I have never gotten a real answer to that question.

I am bigger on the outside, but I honestly don't feel any different on the inside from now and when I was 10.

And since some adults do the most childish things, what does it all mean?

if you have kids, you grow up really quick. Life isn't about you anymore, it's about what you need to do for your kids....everything! There is no more doing ANYTHING, without thinking about how it will effect them. Atleast that's how I see it. When I didn't have kids, I could come and go as I pleased, get drunk with the girls, buy anything I wanted to spend my money on, without a care in the world....After having kids, you can't even go out to dinner without considering your children....I wouldn't trade it for anything, but there is a lot of growing up involved...

I prefer to be just a overgrown kid because when you consider yourself an adult then you start feeling old and you know what they say your only as young as you fee or as old as you look. lol.

I'm 41, and feel like a big kid sometimes! I still need my mom, and I find myself watching my 15 yr. old son making the same mistakes I did and find it hard to punish him for them. But we have been through it and know the outcome. It sucks growing up!

Physically yes we all grow up but many of us fail to mature mentally. I work with a lot of elderly people and I think nothing is sadder than an elderly person that has not grown by life's many lessons. It is almost as if they have gone through life with blinders on.
