Could my best friend be hiding something from me?

I've known my best friend since I was about 5 1/2. We've always been close. I know about almost every argument or problem that goes on in his house, and he knows mine. We share our secrets, and are very open with each other...we're not scared to tell each other anything. We have a very good friendship. But the past week or so, whenever I call over there or whatever, he acts kinda rude. He's NEVER not talkitive on the phone, but lately he has been. Even his siblings (who are usually nice to me) are being kinda rude. Things seem fine whenever we're around each other, but when it comes to that phone, forget about it. My thinking is this -- his Mom has been gone on vacation with friends for a week now. She won't be back until Friday. Do you think maybe he is missing her and is taking it out on me? And he doesn't want to tell me that because he might be embarressed that he misses his Mom? Or do you think he is hiding something? Please help. Thanks.

You guys are very close, so talk to him! Especially if you say things are fine when you're together in person. Just say what you wrote.

I don't know how to say. Just keep in touch with him(try not to be on the phone). If he is an understandable,try to ask him. (but this is a risky way).

Just keep your eyes open and watch him and his family.

If he really misses his mom, he'll be back to a usual person when his mom come back.

Or maybe he has a family problem?

Just don't push him to make him listen to you. Always beside him when he really need your support.

One thing: If you two are so close, he won't hiding anything from you except for some reason.

u got to talk to him, maybe he heard something bad about you, and it''s not that he believes it but it's human nature to wonder. he's treating you cold and he probably doesnt even know it. I had been in a situation where this girl told a very good friend of mine that i was trash talking her and her family, and although my friend didn't 100% believe, she was acting kinda weird for a while...so then i finally called her aside one day and forced her to tell me what's going on, and everything came out...eversince our friendship has been retained and all has been gr8.

OK look u should jus ask him if hes ready 2 tell u he will but i don't think its just cuz of his mom that could b part of it but he might wanna tell u but cant i kno it sounds crazy but yea jus wait and when the time is rite youll find out

Yea its probably just that he misses her. Men react differently towards others when something is bothering them. It could be lack of sleep, an arguement with co workers or friends... anything. They arent very verbal creatures, so its hard for them to talk about their feelings/problems.

u should be asking him this question not us. Because god knows why he suddenly is acting this way. I f you are right and he really is ur friend just be honest with him and ask him what the hell the problem is

I think that if you guys are as close as you say you are then you have nothing to worry about and you should trust him to tell you when he is ready.

i think that he loves you and now he knows about it so he is being kind of rude because he don't know how to act with you

it could be a myriad of things- you guys need to talk and see what is going on- give him some space and let him contact you
