you are correct. I don't know how I would have gotten through some days if I couldn't take aspirin first thing in the morning!

Unless you drink a lot for a long period of time and take painkillers a lot for a long period of time NOTHING will happen in either of the circumstances. Aspirin eats away at your stomach lining and can cause ulcers and this is really the only risk your taking. Alcohol also eats at your stomach very slightly but the risk of taking aspirin while drinking and the day after is pretty much the same. Either way you are putting acid into your stomach and you're slightly damaging your stomach.
The point is unless you take aspirin all the time and drink all the time then don't worry about it at all. Also, the difference between taking it while drinking and the night after is negligible. There's really no point in taking it while drinking anyway because you usally won't have a headache until the day after and not while you're drunk.
Aspirin and ibuprofen hurt the stomach lining a little and can cause ulcers from long term use. Acetaminophen is hard on the liver and can cause liver damage from long term use. Unfortunately alcohol causes liver damage and hurts the stomach so that's why you aren't supposed to take pain meds while drinking because it will double the harmful effects, though like I said these harmful effects are very small.
The point is if you are so worried about your health don't drink so much! It's just plain dumb to be worried about when to take aspirin when you are drinking to excess in the first place. You are both right, aspirin will damage your stomach whether you take it the same time as alcohol or not.
The best solution would be to take it the the next morning after you've eaten breakfast and have food in your stomach. This is the best way to go, of course the best solution is to not drink. But always take aspirin and ibuprofen on a full stomach if you're worried about ulcers.

Actually they say if you take two aspirins with a large glass of water before you hit the sack, it will help with the hangover. The thing you have to consider, Aspirin thins the blood, so if you consume a lot of beer I wouldn't take it. But for hard liquor or wine, definitely and not every day of course.
The patient she talks about with the liver failure, had 95% something wrong with his liver anyway.
Hey my sister in-lw, God bless her, is 81 drinks like a fish, literally like a fish since she is 15, takes sleeping pills besides 5-6 Gravols, has pills for asthma, Jesus I don't know what she all takes and has not had any kind of problems with her organs, She did quit smoking after 50 years.
I might add that I was born when she got married to my brother
there's the age difference, but I think she'll outlive us all anyway.

Alcohol stays in your system for up to 24 hours, although you may not feel the effects of it.Drinking plenty of water is an excellent idea,as the body dehydrates tremendously while drinking, that is also why it is not a wise idea to drink in hot weather or when you are just relaxing in the sun like at a beach.Taking ANY KIND of PAIN RELIEVER is NOT recommended. The reason for this is the kidneys and liver can become toxic from the combination.I read an article in the Journal of Medicine about this one gentleman that always drank a glass of wine in the evening. He took a pain reliever and went into liver failure within an hour. They put him at the top of the donor list and luckily received a liver. If you drink all the time, you may not be as lucky as that guy,b/c depending on if someone abuses their kidneys or liver,is where on the list they put you.
SO DO NOT TAKE THEM FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS

Dangerous stomach irritants which contain aspirin are probably a bad idea if you have alcohol induced gastritis. It increases the risk of GI bleeding.
Aurvedic doctors recommend 2 tsp of fresh lime juice and 1/4 tsp of honey in 8 oz of water sipped slowly for hangover relief.
Ginger root and Rolaid liquid or tablets will help an upset stomach. Diluted juice will replace fluid and electrolytes.
Milk thistle helps repair and protect the liver.

The best thing to do is to take the aspirin before you go to bed the night you've been drinking and take two glasses of water to wash it down. The reason for hangovers is dehydration so the water and the aspirin will really help, in fact you may not have any hangover at all. (the water is the really important part)

No. I drink coffee to wake up in the mornings. But if I want to stay up late and go out, I'll drink some coffee with dinner.
