How long did you stay in the hospital after you had your baby?

With both of ours, my wife was in the hospital only until the next day... about 24 hours. Ask me next month and I'll tell ya about the third one. =)

It used to be 48 hours, then they switched it to 24 hours but had to recently switch it back to 48 hours because there were too many mothers and babies being sent home with infections and problems that would have been caught had they stayed in the hospital for 2 days. (This is in the SE WI area)

Im due with my second any day now, I dont expect the hospital stay to be much different unless there is a problem.

2 nights- exact time works out different depending what time of day you have your baby, but it's always 2 nights at the hospitals around here.

I think it depends on if you had a C section or not. if its natural birth like my sister its normally 24-48 hours depends on the hospital. c section might take about a week or so.

A week but I was the only one on the maternity ward so they kept me for awhile that was also a long time ago in a very small town in Wyoming

2 days with my first kid (natural) and also 2 days with second (natural) but I was up and walking around 2 hrs after he was born and they told me I could go home after 24 hrs. if I wanted but I didn't want to because I knew that would be my last night of some good sleep(sent him down to the nursery at night and they would bring him down when he was hungry) So I took advatage of the extra night with the second child.

My first had bad jaundice and had to go under the Bili lights so we were in the birth center for almost a week. With my second we spent two nights.
