Hi, I am afraid pregnancy can play havoc on our bodies and sleep pattern.
Try a wet, warm towel wrapped around the neck, it may help loosen the muscles if is caused by tension but if it is trapped nerves caused by the pregnancy then it might not ease until after baby is born.
You pillows may not help, try going without for a few nights and see if this helps to ease the aching.
Another good thing is a gentle massage, get your partner to treat you to a gentle massage to help loosen this area.
Good luck with the bubs by the way

oh my goodness that sounds horrible!!! :( :( :( :( uhm didnt the doctor do a strep test?? if not then he needs to immediately becuase you may have an extreme case of strep throat. Please please please get a strep test if you havent, and if thats what it is then yess penicillin will help becuase its an anitbiotic and thats a bacterial infection. But if youve had a strep test and it was negative then i guess it is viral and noo penicillin wont help that because its nott bacterial. You will just have to wait for it to pass :( Definitely try the gargle, anything he suggests. ANd try drinking as much water as you can becuase it will help flush a virus out of your system. A humidifier works better for a swollen or stuffy nasal passages but may help soothe the soreness some. Man that really stinks im so so so sorry :( :( my heart goes out to you i hope you make a quick recovery.

did you try going to see a chiropractor?? I had back and neck problems before, during and after my pregnancy. I was treated by a chiropractor up to 1 month before I delivered. Ask you OB if you could seek out this type of treatment. I don't think I would have survived with out it!! Good Luck!

there is a bunch of things maybe you need a new pillow. Also a massage would usually help, try sleeping in a differant position, you can take tylenol which helps alot as well. good luck

Talk to your doctor about "unkers spray". Its just like "icy hot". You should also have one pillow under your knee, one behind your back and a tiny one under your belly. There should be a big one under your head. This will give you proper body alignment during pregancy. You might also want to invest on a pregnancy pillow. There are also chiropractors who specializes in pregnant women. It did me wonders.

get one of those weird pillows. there filled with corn or beans, you microwave it. it gets real warm. but they smell funny. my mom bought me one, i thought she was crazy.... but nothing else works. i didn't care what it smelled like, it really worked that good. she bought it at a craft fair. then my brother bought on off line. there cheep, they smell funny. but I swear it really will work. better then ibprofin. everyone will tell you to go to the doctor, (maybe they are rich or something :) ) but trust me, these pillows will be a wonder. I promise!

I would go to the hospital or doctor to get help for that. They can let you know what you can take or do for it. Just give your doctor a call and see what they say.
