AVG has a good personal use Anti-Virus product available at: http://free.grisoft.com

Avast Antivirus, also for non-commercial use is available at: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Avira AntiVir Personal Edition is also available for download at http://www.free-av.com , I have not used this a lot and would welcome other comments on it.

The above products include active background scanning modules!

Bitdefender has an excellent scanner and removal tool but does not have any active background protection in the free version that is available at: http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Main/view/Download-Free-Products.html

Hi, you can try Norton or Mcafee to remove the virus, but you should pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar, which can disable the virus, becasue the virus can only run on IE.

firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and spywareware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

Ever heard the saying "you get what you pay for?"
Zone Labs has an excellent single interface firewall and antivirus. $19.95 a year. That's cheap, but not free, and is very good. It also is not a resource hog and won't slow down your computer. Just have patience "training" the firewall and read the pop up boxes carefully. As you gradually give permanent permission to allow websites, you will get less and less warnings.

They all have pros and cons. AVG is good, but I would recommend also running an online scan from Kaspersky.com or Panda at least once per month, just to be sure.

Avast! and AVG are both free and work good, but Avast! is a bit cumbersome...I recommend AVG.
