No your not alone, totally agree, hate them type of shows. Whats the point to them, making a bunch of wannabes "famous". Like watching a bunch of people sitting aroun din a house or fighting or whatever how exciting not. Or X factor like we need another popstar who cant sing, and love island a bunch of past it stars who have no other way of getting back on tv than doing some pathetic show, yeah HATE reality tv shows.

All can say about the Simple Life is that those b***es shouldn't get a cent for anything since they're gonna inherit it all eventually.
And as for the Real World, that is one of the most obviously scripted shows out there. Not to mention I would put a heavy bet on that they give the people plastic surgery to fit the profiles that they're looking for.
As for the rest of it I just hate it all, mainly due to MTV. If you look at the s*** that's on there you would know exactly what I mean. Like The Hills I just can not stand. The only reason they're famous is because they're dumb blondes.

I love some of them, it's just relaxing, fun ,no brainer TV, and sometimes I just don't want to have to sit there and concetrate or watch all of the gorey crap they have on, ofcourse sometimes I'm in the mood for that stuff too...It's just a mood thing I guess. I love Big Brother, just to see how stupid they are sometimes, and Survivor is always a favorite at my house, even my kids like to watch that, and yes, I do indulge in American Idol, and also The Amazing Race. It's just fun sometimes to get a birds eye view of how other people think and act......I wouldn't give up C.S.I. for any of them or House either, but when there isn't anything else on why not?

SO not alone. I can't stand any of them. I think Big Bother is a travesty, and the others are base and pointless.
That said, in the interests of not being a hypocrit, I do chuckle if I accidently see some of the useless people auditioning early in an X Factor series. But aside from this caveat, I agree with you totally.

No-- you are not alone. These shows look so contrived- they must coach these people on 'what kind of things' to say. The worst was when I left the TV on the Sci-Fi channel the other day while I did some housework. Who Wants To Be A Superhero was on... I only caught the end (thank goodness) and these three people in super hero costumes were CRYING!!!! Unbelievable!!!
I hate reality TV. How much more can we take?!?!?!?!? AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry- I kinda lost it there.

They're all amazingly dumb, largely because there's nothing "real" about them. The players know it's being taped and will later be broadcast, it's all edited, and often they're engaged in these "real" situations for cash prizes and attention. The fact that there are no professional actors or high production costs doesn't make any of these real, I personally think they're for self-indulgent thrill seekers performing for cheap producers.
Reality TV does exist in some sense....namely documentaries as seen on PBS, the BBC, or educational cable stations. No one's being prompted to perform for $$$$ or "wonderful prizes!"
I hope this trend goes away....soon.

Seems reality TV has exploded doesn't it? Everyone and everything now has a show- Hulk Hogan , Gene Simmons , Paris (****) Hilton and equally slutty Nicole Richie , Ozzy Osbourne ect... It's all getting pretty stupid to watch someone elses crazy life when we have crazy lives of our own! But that's the reason why we watch, to take the focus off our own crazy lives!

no Tony you are not alone in this sudden overload of car crash crap TV,why would anyone wanna watch people sleep in case low and behold something interesting may happen like someone will pick their nose. And all these people go on from being nobody's to being "celebrities" and i use the term celebrity in its widest form of the word, it seems now days any Tom Dick and Deidre wants Andy Warhol saying about everyone having their 15 minutes of fame, but now they are taking the mick.
As for all these Pop X factor bollocks all that is, is watching people making complete Pratt's of themselves on national TV, public humiliation and this is the kind of rubbish that is served up on our TVs
Think back to years ago when there was excellent dramas and serial's on TV, now we been reduced to Car Crash TV and rubbish Quiz Calls.

Honestly, I don't care for them. They were okay at first and now it is taking over TV. There are very few good shows to watch as it is without all the Stupid Reality Shows!

I am sure you are not alone. I watch a small group of reality just for sheer entertainment. Every once in a while it is just fun to laugh at people
