What is a blog? A blog is a swampy area full of water with no underground spring to feed it. A blog is very acidic though it is also a great place for mosquitoes to breed and eat you alive when you enter the blog.
You'll need a bug zapper if you live near a blog. A blog is a rich place for plant life. A form of moss, especially Sphagnum moss, grows and forms a thick mat of floating plants. These plants, over time, can fill in the pond or small lake with peat that will eventually be firm enough to support trees.
The outer edge of a blog is supported by plant life that people can walk over. The center of the blog however is soupy water which tastes like mucous if you drink it. Blogs have very little decomposition or organic matter which creates a very acidic soil. A tree that falls in such area is often called a 'log in a blog.'
Blogs are very popular now days, too. People go online and write about them in these kinds of personalized online journals. Writing about these swampy areas is called "blogging."

A blog is an online diary where people share their thoughts and daily activities. Due to the easy availability of online publishing tools, even an average internet user can start a blog.

Well, I had a web site back in 1996, and it was pretty darn good if I say so myself. But it didn't become a blog, I don't think, until June 2000, when I decided to put up something new every single day. (Shortly thereafter, I rigged up a way for readers to comment; in 2002, I switched to Movable Type and let it do the dirty work. I am now running WordPress.) Haven't missed a day since the summer of '00, either.

Blogs are like diaries, except you it's on the internet, where everybody can read it. Blogs don't always have to be about personal life, they can be about other topics.
A blog is like a website that updates frequently.
You don't have to have a domain name to have a blog. You can sign up for an account at www.blogspot.com, where you can get a free blog.

a blos is the short form for WEB-LOG. Its basically a log that is maintained on the internet (aka world wide web). So all blogs have the same website address format as any other website. Its whats on teh website that makes it a BLOG - basically in a BLOG, you will find a community of users, who often get into groups andd share their personal logs (diaries, log of holidays etc) to the rest of the peope on the community/group.

Blog stands for Web Log. It's like an online journal of sorts. A website is not necessarily a journal, but it can be.
