Ok.... if you are female and sexually active, in all probability you have a vaginal infections with trichomonas vaginalis protozoa.Another symptom besides the greenish malodorous discharge is itching.
So... there's good news and bad news -- The bad news is - you have an STD - sexually transmitted disease. The good news is that you can be cured completely, with proper treatment. BUT - and there's always a but - you need to treat your partner too - even if he is asymptomatic - or you can get reinfected.
The treatment is metronidazole: 400mg twice a day for 5-7days. If you have a child, do not breast feed for the durations that you are taking the medication. It is also advisable to avoid having alcohol while on treatment.

To confirm the Diagnosis: Your doc will do a vaginal swab and take a smear of the discharge on a slide and view it under the microscope - trichomonas motile parasites are seen.

It could be anything, ranging from a relatively harmless bacterial infection to an STI, but there's definitely something wrong. You did not mention whether you happen to be sexually active or not. If so, and I hate to say this, you could have gonorrhoea - I have looked it up and the symptoms can include 'strong smelling vaginal discharge that may be thin/watery or yellow/green.' If you have not been having full sex, it is possible to still catch this from sexual contact. Of course, you may not have it at all. The only person who can tell you is a doctor, so whatever your sexual situation, you have to see one now to rule out more worrying possibilites and get treated. Any infection if left untreated can have devastating effects, as well as being uncomfortable and frightening. Doctors see people with embarrassing conditions every day, and just want to help, so don't be humiliated. It's better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

You definitely need to make an appointment with a gynecologist asap. Don't be embarrassed; every woman has to go see one with problems at different times in her life. If you don't get this taken care of, the infection might lead to other very serious health problems or infertility. If you don't have the money, then go to the health dept. Don't wait.

Go to your doctor at once. You have an infection and only your doctor can tell you what type it is and how to treat it. It could be something as innocuous as a yeast infection or as serious as an STD.
