i'm going through the process of getting my 8mth old son to sleep in his crib. Of course he doesn't want to be there and were working on it together. But my neighbour always bangs on the wall when he cries. It's not like I let him scream for ever and I'm usually in the same room as him. I feel bad but what can i really do? I've talked to her and let her know the situation but she proceds to bang. I feel as if i'm stuck. any idea's ?

ahhh thats a little tough! Im surprised that she still bangs after you have talked to her. Maybe you can move the crib to the other side of the wall if possable? If not that I would maybe talk to her again and just say that you are sorry but theres nothing you can really do. If that does not work I would bang on the wall back at her! Maybe she will get the hint!

Oh that is terrible! I think that is really unfriendly of her to continue to do that after you spoke with her. I can understand your neighbor's frustration with listening to a crying baby, since it can be trying on parents, let alone someone who doesn't LOVE the baby! However, having explained the situation to the neighbor you would think she would try to patient for a week or two while you get things settled with the crib. I would try using a fan in the room or some peaceful music to help drown out the sounds of the banging for your son and hopefully help soothe him to sleep. You could also try putting the crib in another room if possible until he gets used to falling asleep in it, then move it back to that room. I wish I could think of more solutions for you!! Best wishes for all to have a good nights sleep soon!

I want to say that your neighbor probably never had kids. She is very mean. His just a baby. I would do the same as someone else suggested, bang back when she does. You should not feel bad at all, like I said his just a baby. (Not sure how old she might be but)maybe she is an old, crouchy, miserable old lady. I wouldn't worry about it if your landlord is understanding. That is who you need to be ok with in the long run.

Explain to your neighbor what you're doing, and that crying is common until your baby gets used to sleeping in his crib. Also tell her that the more she bangs on the wall, the more she's upsetting your baby, and the harder the baby will cry.

I am assuming your in an apartment... I would talk to the land lord, and if that does no good.. I would bang back everytime she bangs on the wall.... I understand getting him to sleep in his crib is very stressfull, and she isnt helping with your stress level any at all....
