i know i want a pda for my birthday in november, but not sure which one i should get. i know palm for sure and i think either a tungsten e2, tx, or t5. at first i considered the z22, but i wanted a more upgraded version.
i know the tx is the best, but it cost the most and im not sure if i will use all the capabilities
dont really know much about the t5 really
so far leaning towards the e2, but opinions would really help!

also im in high school and i think whichever i buy i would use throughout it

thankyou very much!

i know the palm life drive is the best of the best from palm, but its costly, and i dont want to have my parents pay so much,so most likely not considering it, but thanks for the reviews for it anyways!

I own the E2, it is physically the smallest of the three PDA's you mention which is why I bought it. It is a basic PDA, it can display photos (ok for happy snaps, but not great art), show short movies (poorly and only in Kinoma format), and function as an mp3 player (very good at this). And of course play games.

I use mine as a traditional PDA (notes, to do lists, etc), an mp3 player, and as an ebook reader. Lots of places that carry ebooks now and its great if you like to read.

There are now acccessories that allow you to get online with it but it isn't built in like the others, so it isn't as convenient as a communications device. A big consideration if you want to get online, use bluetooth etc. And if you have to buy the accessories, that adds to the cost.

I would say, before you decide, get a firm idea of how you want to use it. Your answer to that question will probably help you answer your original question.

Palm LifeDrive is the top of the line Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) from Palm:

http://www.palm.com/us/products/mobilemanagers/lifedrive/

It retails for $399. You may find it cheaper on eBay.

I would go for the Tungsten T/X if I were you. It retails for $299, but it is well worth it. It is a great PDA, and has a lot of features.

I have a LifeDrive, which I find to be a great handheld, and it has a gorgeous large screen. I use it to surf the Web at HotSpots (with the built-in WiFi), I use the built-in recorder sometimes, I use it as an mp3 player (great sound quality), and I even use it to watch DVDs (with special software).

The only argument I have against it is that there is a delay with certain application, and there is about 90 seconds wait when I have to reset it from time to time. Otherwise, a fantastic handheld.

Get the TX or lifedrive. I have the lifedrive myself and its great but its more expensive. You can store stuff on it but featurewise its most comparable to the TX. The TX has more RAM anyways and thats whee you put programs. The extra storage capacity of mine is a farce - only for pics or movies (which the screen quality sucks for anyways). If you want more space on a TX, get SD memory cards.

For more info I welcome you to search Brighthand! They can give you details about the model + a forum to discuss and ask q's.

But the TX will be cheaper, and it has wifi and BT built in. The others don't. (LD does)
