A "Total Recall" trip to Mars. ;-)

Wherever you choose, plan your trip to coincide with a full moon to make it spectacular. If you are going to the effort/expense to get there... places like the Taj Mahal or Macchu Picchu are soooooo amazing by moonlight.

Aloha

Fiji.

A blue lagoon cruise which is run by the Fijians will take you around the different islands, and to different villages. The Fijians will teach you to dance in their style, and they cook amazing food. (It is not at all like a regular cruise.

If you don't want a cruise, the islands are still lovely, as are the people. There are two cultural groups the Fijian natives, and the Fijian Indians (from India originally). It is interesting to meet both cultures. Even the Indian Fijians have been there for more than 500 years or something.

Amazing place. I went with my parents when I was 15, I would love to go back now and see it.

I'm amused that your question is in Mythology and Folklore, as if the perfect vacation spot doesn't actually exist.

My husband and I honeymooned at an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic.

It was perfect - great beaches, delightful staff, beautiful scenery and since it was all-inclusive we didn't pay for a thing the entire time we were there.

If you ask 2 billion people, you will get at least 1 million different answers. For me: I love yachting, flying over volcanoes, diving among rays and sea turtles, visiting frigate bird sancturaies, climbing snow peaks, visiting museums, eating exotic food--so to sum up my perfect vacation spot: I would need to move Antigua in the Caribbean right next to Switzerland in the Summertime and Thailand right next to Switzerland in the Wintertime. From Antigua I sail in one hour to Barbuda to visit the frigate Bird sanctuary, I can dive off around the dozens of uninhabited islands for conch and lobster, feed giant rays and turtles and I can take a half hour helicopter tour over the Soufriere Volcano in Montserrat-30 miles due west. I love Thai food and the Alpine region of Switzerland. Oops, I would move Dubai and attach it on to Switzerland in the Autumn so that I could do my shopping by train. The point is : if you could get everything you loved in one location--human nature is such that you would loose your appreciation for them and then you would have to travel to seek new discoveries--such is the carnal nature of human beings. Hence, when we are spiritual, we do not need to travel physically to be filled--all we do is to find our spiritual wells and slurp the spiritual wine.
