Traditional societies often teach the girls to be more passive, to wait for the man to call her. She may also be shy, as you said.
Just because she is quiet does not mean she doesn't love you. Watch her eyes, her face. Listen to her movements. If you hold her, and you feel her heart beat faster, and if she holds you with passion, if she kisses you, then you might know.
Give her a gift. Do something nice for her. Does she smile? Does she bring you food, or drink?
You must be patient, if you love her. Do you understand the difference between spirit love and erotic love or lust?

There is no way you can know what is in another person's head. You can only guess by their actions. Some people are incapable of showing love if they ever do love.

tell her that u will never call her again, her reaction will tell u but make sure after seeing her reaction, to tell her it was just a joke and u cant live without speaking to her.
