Most spiders that hibernate will seek shelter inside homes, in cellars, underground, or in rock crevaces.
Many spiders have eggs that overwinter and the adults die, but in most cases it is the adults that seek out a warm, above freezing place to hide.

If you've ever been out chopping firewood in the winter, you'll find that all the creepy-crawlies like to hide and live in both the wood piles and the bark of the trees.
Especially those awful Huntsmans... ahh, I hate them!!!
