They are sheerest nonsense! There are different types and different levels, but all share the trait of being trash. To erect a horoscope, an astrologer needs several thick books and must know the precise minute and place a person was born as well as the usual date. The stuff in newspapers, magazines and little books at the drugstore based upon Sun signs is childish. Oh well, it is as good as anything that an astrologer does that takes much more time. I studied Astrology and did many horoscopes for people, so I can say with authority that Astrology is "mumbo jumbo".

I would say that the ones you read in the paper are mumbo jumbo because they're so vague (although one day mine said that my financial status was going to improve and then a few hours later I found a 20 dollar bill on the way home from work), but the in-depth ones that take several hours to do at a psychic's might have some truth to them. I think you have to make the case for astrology based on your own experiences.

When I lived in New York, a very popular tabloid newspaper used to print the 100 predictions for the new year every Christmas. They used to hook people with a lot of sweet-sounding things that were supposed to happen. Even though every year, they got at least 90-95 of the things wrong, people would rush and buy the papers all the time. The sad thing is that the devil operates like crocodiles--he lures, drags you deeper and deeper and then pounces. The need to find out the future has lured many into more heavy-duty stuff like occultism, using Ouija boards etc.
Isaiah 8:19 gives us this warning: "And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? "
The reason is simple. God releases His prophetic gifts in stages. If the devil snatches a person that God began to release His prophetic gifts upon, Satan would use their partial gifts to give himself credibility. Since they did not develop properly, they would hit occasionally and miss many times--by then people would have committed the infractions warned against in Isaiah Isaiah 8:19.

The horoscopes you read in the paper are just too general. To get an accurate reading, you have to know the exact day, time and place where a person was born.

The horoscopes are real because you can make them real. If it says, "Today you wil be surround with an air of confidence and your boss and peers will applaud you." Then you go in and ask for a raise, it becomes true.
They are real if you act on them.

The things in the paper are just so much drivel. To even begin to have any sort of "accuracy" you'd need to have a Natal chart done, and even then they are far better as an insight to your personality than an actual prediction of the "future".

It is if you believe it to be. ppl will read there horror scopes and analyze every aspect during the day to see if it rings true. Horoscopes are a generality just like psychics. Just remember if you hear lie a lot, you will start believing it. and if you believe in a lie, then it would become your own truth. Just like religion there are so many.. Choose which one suits your nature best.

astrology was used in ancient sumeria first as an exact science
of studying and observing the stars for religious, and for political
reasons. and also used to calculate time in reguards to the seasons with relations to the soltises( sun stand still). later on it
became in use to fortell future events, etc... there are real good
and qualified astrologers, but there are also frauds!!! like the news papers!!!
