I'm on here often enough, I read many of the answers given to questions. When it comes to exclusively Christian comments, or comments on christianity, I noticed that many people will say "you are going to hell if you sin". Ok, that's a given right? Then why is there such a confusion that, even though you will sin, you WILL NOT go to hell. Sure, you can say repent, however, is there really some way to weigh the seriousness of any sin? What truly permits people to go to hell?
Shouldn't there be a disclaimer over everything saying that, Sin=Hell, pure, no-sin=Heaven. No exceptions?
Please no scripture, thanks.

Sin is simply disobedience to God. It's Man that differentiates sin. Would you rather live next door to a liar or a murderer?
If you have repented and accepted Jesus as your Savior, then all your sin to that point is forgiven. It should also signal a fundamental change in our behavior. That is after all what repent means. Will you be perfect? Of course not. But the difference is that you make a conscious effort to avoid sin, and are truly remorseful when you lapse. Remember, Christianity is a relationship with God. When you screw up, apologize and try to do better.

Sin reflects a turning away from God. So yes, if you sin you will go to Hell. However, you can also turn back to God and ask forgiveness. The issue is the motive behind the act: deliberate rejection of God. Degree of the sin was created by Man to create a reasonable "system" of justice: should swearing equal murder? Of course not.
As for the "no sin" part, only through the forgiveness of the Cross.

There is no middle ground, I wish there was, but a sin is a sin. The trick is not to try to find that happy middle ground, and just lead a good life and then you'll make it into heaven, cause you won't.
Trust me I wasn't happy about that when I learned that too. I was like, "c'mon....I've been good, I never killed anyone, or beat the sh!t outta someone who didn't deserve it..." but the answer always came back, a sin is a sin, theres no bar graph to compare it to.
Basically it goes like this, God wants us to find him, and accept him as our creator and saviour. We all sin and live in sin everyday. All we have to do is find God and all will be forgiven regardless of what we have done....yes even killed someone.
The difference lies in Man & God. Man's law is loosley based on the Ten Commandments and the Code of Hammurabi. To tell you the truth, in some ways we are much stricter on ourselves than even God would be, cause his only request for absolution is that you love him with all your heart and ask for his forgivness for ALL that you have done.
When you find God (not that you havent) you will know. But the trick is that you really need to look for him. Going to church every Sunday and putting in your time will not help. God wants to know that you love him like you do yourself because he is in you. Once he knows that...your good to go.
So take the time to look for him, read his words, and be the best you can be for him. That doesn't mean you can't drink, smoke, f@#k etc....all will falter, but forgivness is a garuntee if asked by the faithful.

There are basically 2 types of sins, namely vernial and mortal sins. The first is less serious, while the latter may lead to heavy consequences.
Actually, there should be 3 spiritual realms after one's life -- heaven, purgatory and hell. Purgatory is the in-between stage whereby there will be showers to cleanse the soul awaitng to go heaven.
Access to heaven requires the grace of God to permit you more than you being a holy man.
-Try not to sin.
-But if you had sin, as long as you are regretful over your sin, you are quite alright. Go for confessions!

Yes its called the ten commandments.. But Jesus gave the deepers meaning behind them.. It appears nobody will ever keep them,, so that is why Jesus died on the cross..As a sacrifice..There is no sin, that cannot be forgiven,, but 1 sin unforgiven is = hell.. For if God is just he has to punish.. Any good judge will not let a man get away with a crime..

Ok Apostasy time!
Think of Hell as the Debter's prison for goodness. If you sin you have a debt that you must repay before you die or you go to the hot place. You can seek absolution for your sins and pay pennance, like doing good with interrest, and you'll be absolved of your sins. It's a bit silly to think you're expected to go through the whole of your life without sinning. The act of your creation is your first sin, it's referred to as Original Sin.

"you are going to hell if you sin. Ok, that's a given right? "
Hmm, I thought you were supposed to be forgiven if you accepted Christ. Does that forgiveness not get you out of hell?
Basically if you were a real Christian when you died you didn't go to hell. That's for unbelievers.
Have I got the story straight?

i do no longer think of that could be the experience of the nighttime, yet I do like your thought. those 2 have been in a feud for lots of weeks an it somewhat is going to be interesting if those 2 conflict at Hell in a cellular, yet i'm finding forward to the Triple danger WWE Championship experience. i individually % Cena to lose that championship because of the fact it won't suit his coming storyline with The Rock at Survivor sequence.

i gave up on religion a long time ago but still know the answer to this. If you "sin" you can be absolved by going to confession and are saved from "hell". The only "sins" which are a one way ticket to "hell" are "mortal sins", like murder for example.
