The only way to know is for him to get tested. I went through some pretty painful and expensive tests that ended up being pointless. Try bringing him to your OB/GYN to explain how much easier it is for a man to be tested than a woman. I did this with mine and also made a deal with my hubby...I got the sperm count order from my OB/GYN, helped get the sample at home, and brought it to the hospital to be checked.

He has a low count and mobility. We were referred to a urologist. The urologist thinks he has vericose(sp?) veins and a simple surgery will fix it.

After the emotional roller coaster of trying, while there was a baby boom going on around us (10+ friends had babies!) we decided to take a break from it all, so I don't know how it's all going to turn out yet.

Does your husband know that has a low sperm count? (I have an idea ("dishonest" socially, but very painless; but if he is sterile and he knows, nothing)

So, (if you REALLY love him beside his stubbornness) you just make it with another that doesn't care and doesn't want a baby and doesn't want to know if he has a child. You can say that this is very bad advice, but that is what your grandmother would say. Don't keep the mediocrity of the society when it works against you. This is costless, will make him happy, but you must keep that secret, and bear it until you die. And, most important of all, be SURE that you will get out of every potential complication with the other person SAFE. Remember also, that this requires intelligence, endurance, strong will and self-sacrificing. Considering the norms of the society we live in, I imagine that planning this, might feel like planning a perfect murder. But I characterize that as conformism.

My husband was found to have a low count so he quit smoking, changed to boxers instead of breifs, started taking a daily multi-vitamin and l-carnatine. Within about 6 months his count had doubled and now he is within the normal range--low normal but still normal.

My husband went and had it checked...we found out it was low...but that didn't mean that he couldn't have children
