As a society, are we just throwing our "children" away?

I have noticed, as the pace of society increases, more and more parents are spending all their time working and bringing in money that they pretty much ignore their kids. Even if that is not the intent, it still happens much more than we would readily like to admit.

This is a sad state in which our culture dwells. No person is dispsoable, though society would make you think otherwise. The do it or your fired attitude of jobs, the 'we need money' mode parents get into and ignore the more basic and fundamental needs of their children, and the intolorance of ignorance or the unlearned tends to say to people that if you can't keep up, then your getting left behind.

People, children especially, are precious. Each of us have hopes, plans, and dreams that we are trying to aspire to. We each have something that we really excel at, even though in most cases that something is overlooked because they don't meet the criteria of what is considered important in the world today.

We as a society are throwing our children away, and it is getting worse. What we fail to realize is that we are throwing the absolute most precious thing we could ever recieve right out the window. Children are the future. What do you think is going to happen to this world once we are all old and retired, and these kids that we have ignored or tossed aside take over?

As a society, I don't think we are throwing them away, just not guiding them to their full potential. Many children are being left to learn things on their own, and as everyone knows, a child, teenager, young adult, has a short range perception on things. Most of them do not look into the future, so their interpretation of things is different. It is up to us, the adults to monitor what they learn and use guidance to make sure they get the right education out of what is being to presented to them. They need our ecperience to help them understand what it is they are learning, and how their actions will affect their futures. As far as innocent children being killed, it is being done by extremists, who most of the world just seems to think if they do something about it, it will cause them harm. Where is the ideal of giving their lives for their children gone? Adults claim they don't like their children sent off to fight and get killed, so whay don't their parents enlist and go to was, like they did in the big wars. that is why they fought, to keep their families and children away from war and fighting. You can't get rid of the extremist who do not value life, but we can do more to protect our children from it. I know in a lot of familes, both parents work, and their excuse for not having more invilvement in their childrens lives is that they both work so they can have the big house, money, luxury items, etc. I would rather have well ecucated and children, they have great values, than to have the luxury. Kids are what matters most, not the "stuff"

OK I'm gonna TRY and be careful here. I don't have kids but a lot of nieces and nephews. My brothers and sisters would never let there kids and never did let their kids get away with half the smart mouthing and disrespect many kids have today. I'm not blaming only the kids though. It's the parents that can't control them. I care about people & my family & friends very much and I let them know it. Telling your kids & showing them that you love them will make a large impact on them.
With that said Yes! I believe we should not only throw some kids in the river but the parents as well.

No body is indispensable. that is why if any body dies, still the world moves. Till a person is born it is not a child. Question of throwing away the children does not arise unless some one does a criminal act which is forbidden by law and the Human Rights Covenant also.

Your question is a dramatic one, but a bit overstated. Many kids are, however, neglected. Each child has enormous potential to achieve wonderful things, or to become a liability. Parents need to learn how to be better parents, schools need more engaging ways of educating, communities need to take care of their children. It is a huge problem, so huge it is hard to think of ways to make a difference.

Apparently, yes. But I hope people have more foresight, because there could be some returns to this. Just like people who advocate euthanasia, might one day become a victim of their own devices.

Ask a liberal, and he'd probably say yes; why do you think they push abortion? But we're all put on earth to achieve a purpose, and no one has the right to deny that purpose.
