Yes and No.

In my experience, it all depends on where the needles are placed. Most of the needles go in and you don't even feel them - or you may feel a pleasant warm sensation.

Every now and then, however, they go in and hit on a nerve and it can really hurt - but only for a few seconds.

Once all the needles are in, you just lay there for about 30 minutes and there is no pain at all during that time.

Then they pull out the needles, and I've never felt any pain during that process either.

Hello! Yes this is very normal and means that the acupuncture is working. When the needle is being inserted into certain sites that are truly in need of balancing, it can be sore. Sometimes the discomfort passes or it may stay for the entire session. The more you need it in those particular areas, the more discomfort there can be. As time passes and the energy is flowing normally again, this will pass. As far as the release of emotion, this is an absolutely wonderful thing. All of the emotions that you have had to stuff away are being released. You may cry, get angry, laugh, all of this is very normal and very good. With all of that having been said, you have a very good practitioner. You just hang in there and you will notice that in time, all of these discomforts will go away. I just do need to add one thing. Without resolution of the problems in your life, the acupuncture will only be a temporary fix so to speak. Ultimately, the true healing will begin when all of the issues that you have in your life are being dealt with one by one. I hope that you have continued success with your acupuncture and I wish you all of the peace and happiness that life has to offer.

An extremely, microscopic and miniscule pinch - that is the most it will, and should hurt. Like a poster already mentioned, at times you will not feel it enter into you when performed correctly by an experienced acupuncturist.

Can acupuncture help you grow taller? It is of course best to speak directly to a licensed, experienced acupuncturist. Just to be clear, I am not a licensed acupuncturist so you can take this whichever way you please.

I feel that acupuncture can offer ways to help facilitate growth of bones and stature. While not directly related to this topic, I have had acupuncture and Chinese herbs given to me to help gain additional body mass (I was pretty skinny for my age). What the treatment was designed to do, was to help increase my appetite so that the food intake would be at a larger quantity (which I felt myself doing even though I did not believe it will work). The point I want to make is that acupuncture helped to affect my body composition, so I feel that logically, there should be a way to help facilitate your growth as well.

I saw Gene Simmons get acupuncture last night on TV. It seemed like it hurt a little.

i don't see how it could make you grow taller, but you never know. You should do more research.

Your spelling is correct.
No, acupuncture doesn't hurt, the needles are very thin.
I don't think that it will make you grow taller, if it did, I would be at least 5'4" :)

i agree totally 100% with jeanniemalinda. Hers will be the best answer. how old are you now? if you are still in your teens, acupuncture can help you grow taller by stimulating certain points. but only get it done by a recognised doctor! however if both your parents are not tall and its in your genes, den well, maybe u can try surgery.

It ddoesn't ever hurt me, and always helps the problem i am having tremendously. Make sure that the accupuncturist is licensed and registered and ask for a reccomendation from someone you know/trust. The more you relax and trusst the person, the better it will go! NO! You will not grow taller...how old are you?!!!!!

I have had it done to me by a physiotherapist at the local hospital, it was supposed to alleviate my frozen shoulder but it did not work, also it did not hurt. I did not feel the needles go in, although she put about eight into various places.

off course it hurts.
but the concept is very simple.
"pain relives pain",.
ur body pain, muscular ache, joint pain, most appropriately at ur toes gets relif.
this is not done on all the parts of the body but ,only at some pressure points in our body.
most probably these points are even called as points wr nervous system clusters....
