My wife dumped I would say a little over a cup of melted candle wax down our toilet and flushed it away. No surprise, it now is clogged up badly. :) It can barely take liquids at all, even a piece of toilet paper is enough to cause it not to get rid of all the water.

I tried plungering it forever to no avail, and also tried some foaming liquid plumber type stuff, also with no luck. Any suggestions on how to fix this? :( Thanks much!

Your wife is an idiot. Hide all sharp obects from her. Have her get all water out of the bowl and have her reach in with a long wick and light it. Bet she will try.

You can try pouring hot water into your toilet and see if you can melt the wax. I would start slowly, pouring inwarm water about 1-2 gallons at a time for about 3 flushes, then increasing water temperature from there. Make sure you don't make the mistake of flushing cold water back down the toilet right away after you get it working again. You will need to let it cool back down again so it doesn't crack.

wax gets very hard when it gets cold!! the water in your toilet is cold. just like getting wax off any other surface you'll need to scrap, chisel what every to try to remove it. you may even have to pull the toilet from the floor. also if the was made it into the waste line this can cause other problems in the future as well. next time try using a garbage can!!

Will take it for what its worth but I removed most of the water and dropped ice in the toilet and froze it ! I touched the wax with a screw driver and it broke away from the toilet like magic! worth a try.

First yell at your wife, then a steady stream of hot water in the toilet if some water is draining. Or just use a closet auger.

the wax has settled to the bottom of the pipe, like a half moon, use a hand router that you insert into the throat of the toilet and turn to grind the wax, you can buy them at the hardware and its a good item to have to clean drains as well. good luck

I am as dumb as your wife. I snaked the toilet out and that took care of it. Lesson learned
