I have played both, and you need to be in much better shape to play hockey. It's so strenuous that you can only play for a minute or so before having to get off the ice and rest. There's also a lot more contact in hockey. Plus fighting is in the rules.
Basketball players can play most of a game and play stops if there's significant contact.
Anyone who says you have to be in better shape to play basketball has never played ice hockey and gotten flattened in the corner, had to get up and sprint back down to the other end of the ice, multiple times, every game. If you're not in great shape, you get injured quick. Taking contact in the key in basketball is significant, but contact is much more severe in hockey.

That's really a tough call. Both basketball and hockey are pretty physically intense. You'd think hockey players would be more athletic because they get slammed into the boards a lot, but if you watch the NBA the players really get into it inside the paint, especially right under the basket. I would say basketball players have the edge because they run back and forth across the court a lot and they stay in the game for longer stretches than most hockey players -- you'll see basketball players in the game for an entire quarter (12 minutes) but most hockey players take a break after 2 or 3 minutes.

I think hockey players are alot tougher but basketball players are more athletic. That's not to say that hockey players aren't athletic though.

Easy, basketball players. Basketball is the only sport that requires lateral quickness, linear speed, the ability to change directions quickly, agility, balance, explosive burst of speed, the ability to jump, hand and foot coordination, and uses practically every muscle in the body. Many sports require some of these things, but basketball is the onl one that requires all of them.

I believe hockey players practice regimens are much more gruesome. Regardless of sport, I believe in overall agility, speed and endurance, hockey players will whoop bball players anyday.

Basketball, because they have bigger muscles than hockey players. They are also good in strategy in which way to shoot the ball.

I'd say basketball because they use they're legs (to run and stuff) as much as their arms (to shoot and dribble) hockey players use their legs more than basketball probably but don't really develop arm muscles as much. so yeah basketball
no bias- i dont play either
