You had better call whoever you decide to use and ask them what their policy is on carrying these items onto the plane, bus or what have you. Follow it to the letter of the law, or risk having them confiscated. No way they'll let you carry them on a plane. I would NOT ship them home via UPS, or any other courier. They are notorious for losing things.
100 miles isn't that far. Can't you arrange to have a friend drive you?

then put them in a box with the word in big red lettering
ANTIQUE .FAGUILe
if its on a bus or couch then you should tell the driver what you have got before you board. make sure the box is seald tight
and put it in the lugguge rack
as long as you do not get them out and start waving it around you should be okay

Dress up like the pirate of the carribbean and put one sword on each hip. Remember the hat with the feather and the eyepatch on your head. Have a friend go with dressed as something totally different so that it looks like you are going to a fancy dress. ~Everyone will think the swords are those fake ones because they will be in their sheaths anyway.

Stay with them in the conductors compartment of a train if you go by rail, you got a long bag you can take? Maybe take some black bags and tie one on each end?

Have them properly wrapped in cardboard boxes. Ensure that the box is sealed.
Wrap the swords in bubble-wrap first.

providing they are well wrapped up and you can not get them out in a matter of seconds you are allowed to move them from one place to another. If still unsure phone your local police station.

Have them well packaged, and place them under the bus where luggage and parcels go.
Couriers are actually just as reasonable as shipping by bus.
