I think it is when somebody scratches the side of your car with a key.

Where I'm from, it's called keying. It's where someone takes their keys and scratches up the paint job on your car really bad. Not cool.

I think you are referring to vandalism. When a person takes a set of keys to scratch the paint on a car. Usually it is done front to back on both sides or words are written into the paint and the paint job needs to be redone. Hope that helped.

Well, if it is what happened to me once, it's when someone walks by where you have your car parked and takes the pointed end of their keys and very inconspicuously scrapes down the side of your car, scraping the paint off. Very ugly thing to do to someone's ($26000.00 vehicle at the time and only less than 2 years old).

It is a completely awful thing to do. You take a key and scratch the length of a car with it, causing severe damage. Some gangs have been known to do it.
