I want to trace my DNA ancestry and I know all it needs is a swab taken from the inside of the mouth and the experts can then say that they have found, over the thousands of years, that your DNA has signs of particular migrations from the original African tribes 100,000-80,000 years ago.

I sent in my swab last week. Males can have either the Y chromosome (paternal line) or mitochondrial DNA (maternal line) examined. Women are limited to an analysis of their maternal line.
