The list of competitors is:

farscape
startrek
starwars
stargate
battlestar gallactica (new)
firefly
babylon 5
or any other scifi show/movie you know (please describe though)

ALSO, PLEASE CONSIDER SPECIES the CIS would be more powerful than similar droid armies 25,000 years earlier.

this is not a coolness contest, but a matter of intense combat involving tactics, firepower, defenses, numbers, and resources.

ALSO, IF ANYONE IS RUDE AND SAYS SCI FI IS STUPID, WE'RE GEEKS, ETC., I WILL REPORT ABUSE.

this can tie to v. games because of how many scifi games there are, but it will also get more hits here.

also, even if you think one will win, go ahead and compare the lesser adversaries too.

I'm ending the question, so I would like to share my opinions.

SPACE
most of the scifi shows have fighters, but star wars is like the only Shielded fighters. star trek's phasers would be an advantage, but they would be shredded without fighters to dogfight. also, their shields seem to be one of the weakest in scifi shows. except for the Ori, who would probably kick A**, most of stargate's space vehicles would fall fairly easily. Bttl star Galactica would probably be one of the first to fall, because they have no shields, and are still reliant on primitive projectile weapons. star wars has an advantage in most areas. the battle of endor gave proof of the numbers at their disposal, the stardestroyers are over a km long which makes it way larger than ships from most shows (enterprise D form TNG was half as long), the starwars universe has had over 25000 years from the rise of the old republic to perfect tech., and between advanced shields and energy weapons they would win.

LAND
star wars would probably dominate the land hands down. AT-AT's alone would probably massacre all the other shows, not to mention the repulsor tanks, fighter tanks, other walkers, repulsor craft (speeders), and the ease with which landing craft can deploy. Not to mention the deadly wardroids that have been employed through out the millenia. and, I think an ori prior would be the only thing capable of taking on a good jedi/sith especially with an army behind them.

*Points above* I was gonna say Stargate, but this person laid out all the points I had as to why for me. However I would like to point out one key weakness. Every time they have a tech problem they get royally messed and there is whole episode over it.

So if a group like starwars, which tends to carry alot of their tech with them and knows how to fix it, while melting everything else in sight, were to get too close to SG HQ the battle could turn rather quickly.

So in that case I would say there might be two possible victors. Also because both of those groups tend to be heavy fighters but think with their heads, it may end up being a stalemate in which the two sides come to an agreement.

All in all however, I do not think we have enough information to come to a viable conclusion, as things that would matter, such as who meets up with who first, are not provided. Though it occurs to me that this would make a good online game, even if just in a browser sort of setting. Does anyone here have the skill to make this a reality online? If so, I would certainly play it..

Stargate would sooo win. They have P90s not stupid UZIs!! They sometimes use Zats or intar if they just want to stun though. They are mostly US airforce but have some trained marines and Russians. They can travel in under 3.2 seconds to any planet they want through the gate! They have X302s and X304s, a cargo ship and alkesh and sometimes motherships. And the best of all they've beaten the replicators and gou'ld!!!! Oh an even one ori ship. They are the best there is (especially sg1)!!

It depends upon the battlefield as well. I mean, do you have a specific area in mind eg. in space (i.e. fighting spacecraft, where Star Trek would have ZERO chance as they do not really have any small fighter craft) or on land (i think Star Wars Republic Commandos would kick *** on land, no matter who they were facing).

future refernce to you, don't go making threats like that it's only going to egg the jerks on, anyways my personal favorite as of right now would have to be Stargate, I really couldn't say why other than just they are my favorite pick, does it really matter why I think they would win? aside from the obvious because both Stargate shows kick a*s, and so should it be that they would if they were real

human beings say that they are too old and don't have adequate length to compare up with the Lakers, Mavericks, and so on. yet how are they having such an excellent season then? i imagine they do have an excellent probability. they have a great number of journey, a superb coach, chemistry, and likely domicile courtroom earnings in each series.

the only real combat with the above list would be a star trek/star wars battle. the technologies are at similar stages of development, but trek has a slight edge.
