I got my tongue pierced four weeks ago and now there is like this lump under it (on the bottom of my tongue) and its kinda white but its like dead skin, not pus or anything. I went to the doctor and he said its a granuloma or something like that and it should be alright just keep using listerine. So yeah, it hurts a tiny bit. But i am kinda suss on what the doctor said, has this happened to any of you, or do you guys know what i can do to get rid of it? Please please help. I do not want to take it out cos i love it.

nothing to worry about, its a build up of skin-scar tissue from doing things like talking, eating, playing w/ it, etc. Keep using listerine, or prefereably something w/o alcohol in it as this is actually damaging to a healing piercing. By now if you haven't done so already go back to the piercing studio and have the bar changed to something shorter as it was initally long to allow for swelling, this could help keep it from kocking around. What helps some people-it might not help you at all- is take an asprin crush it up and add enough water to make a paste, apply this to the area and let it sit for 10min. this can take up 2 a week or two to see ANY result so if you try it dont get discouraged-it's nothing to worry about.

You don't need to take out your ring. Just keep your mouth clean; gargle after each meal or snack, or if you smoke. When you gargle with peroxide/listerine mixture, be sure to move your tongue ring up and down to flush out all debris. The lump is the scar that will be there for as long as you have your tongue. lol.. Don't worry about it, just keep everything clean.

ok...your best bet is to put a green tea bag where u hurt.
Listerine is good too.
Try honey dipped on a teabag, put it on it and it will sooth your pain.
If all else fails, take an aloe plant leaf, immediately relief.

scar tissue. keep doing listerine or hot salt water. you will either get used to it or it will go away in time.
