OKay I want to start buying some winter clothes for my son he is 8 months and his birthday is the end of Dec. But I don't know what size I should buy? Mainly a winter coat I found a really nice one but what size should I get?
Right now he is a 12 month top and jeans is 6-9 month or if it's shorts he can wear 12 months they are just a little long. ( he has short legs)

My son was in 12 month bottom and 18 month tops when he was 1 year old. It all depends on his body shape.

In 3 months he could be 1T but he's what you can do? Buy the 9-12 Month, keep the receipt, try it on him, if it's a bit "too smug" take it bavk and get a 1T.

He's not tall so you can buy a few bottoms, ie shorts, in 9-12 months, not whole lot but a few (but it's SO rare to find that size for little boys because either the stores run out of it or they are not carrying too much of that size), but it does exist, as for the tops, Evilposterchild is right, 1T should be okay. But remember he could get some long legs so get some 1T bottoms in the pants.

hope this helps

Just buy 6 months into the future. So if he's wearing a 12-18 month top, buy him an 18-25 month top for the winter.

My daughter was really chubby at 12 months and would easily fit into 18 month clothing. She's 15 months now and still wears 18 month clothing. She's lost A LOT of weight. She was 24 pounds and now she's 21 pounds. Now she's 31 inches tall.

I'd probably get the 18 month size for the coat if he's already wearing 12 month size top.

my kids are hard to shop for too. what makes it worse are the cute outfits (shirts, and short) but she is bigger on top than the bottom, so i can't every get those. i would say get 18 month tops, you will want the jacket a little big anyway, ( i use the motto better to be a little big and comfortable, than too small and not to fit the whole winter.) pants i would say 12 months, if the shorts are big then the pants outta fit good. i want to do my shopping too, but i'm in the same boat. Good Luck!!

My son has always been long and lanky...so fitting him into things that come as "sets" has always been out of the question, even to this day (he is 3 1/2). He has always worn a size bigger shirts than his age ie: when he was 12 mo. he wore 18-24 mo. shirts, and 12-24 mo. pants. Every child is so different though, so i would hold them up to him now and add an inch room to grow before December. Good luck!!

I would go 18-24mths or 1T depending on how big or small the coat looks, but remember that he will also be wearing a sweater or other clothes underneed so he needs room to be comfortable. My son just turned 4mths yest. and he is wearing 6mths clothes. I have to go up on size because the 6mths is almost a perfect fit on him already. His a little fat turkey.

Both of my boys were large, and when they were 12 months old, they were wearing 18 months in most clothes.
