My main requirements are ruggedness, durability, low maintenance, and above all the ability to go into and get out of really rough mountainous, as well as swampy terrain. Also which model do you recommend? The cost is NOT a concern.

Well both are built to be in the wild, but IMO, the Hummers are overrated pimp vehicles. They aren't made like they use to and surely not to military specs. Yes it will handle the off road with ease, but its the other nature of the beast that counts too, its on road capabilities. I feel with the luxury items that the Range Rover has let alone as its respectable reputation it would be my choice. Range Rovers are a fascinating vehicle and have more features to aid in downhill descents and great center of gravity. One of the coolest things is going for a test drive and having the dealer take you on the small off road course they have.

Why one of them? Why not build your own truck if price is not an issue. Get all of the best parts and never worrry about it. It will also look way cooler. But of the two it would be a hummer. H1 or H3
