do you want to know? the lettuce in McDonald's salads are pre-packaged. this means that the salads could very well be a few months old(ew!) the salad bar's lettuce at grocery stores aren't pre-packaged. they probably replace the salad about every day!

Mc is just under global pressure to provide healthier options in their menus, thus having the salad thingie in their menu.
The ones at the grocery stores are actually bigger, and you can assure its freshness and quality as the production date is clearly labeled. You pay the same price too.

I think the one in the grocery store would be healthier since McDonalds adds a lot of extras that are high in calories.

Not much. The FDA mandates that any food left out at room temperature must be housed within a chilling table and destroyed after 4 hours. To protect flavor and color until that time retailers usually spray them with preservatives like sodium or calcium citrate (can't remember which).
No data on long term effect of regular consumption.

McDonald's puts date stamps on their salads and puts tons of toppings on. Not very custimisable. They are pre-made. At least they have Neman's Own dressing which is healthy.
