I really respect your coming out in the open about this. Why your cousin? There are many young and beautiful girls in India if not the whole world. In some societies marriages between close family members is allowed but consider the implications, health risks and other social problems. I would not encourage it for two reasons - incestous relationship and on genetic grounds. Please reconsider and avoid any future genetical problems in your children and their children.

I guess your a Hindu? am I right, well I got alot of friends who are Indian and a hindu, mostly it depends on your culture some of my friends told me its a tradition in some places to marry like the one you said, mostly hindu people do this kind of practices I have argue with them already regarding this but I loose with them although how many times I tell that marrying your first cousin would give them a defect on their child, this is proven scientifically thats why many countries dis allow this kind of marriage, but still they stick to their culture and tradition and we cant interfere with them coz its their choice so you got the choice whether or not to marry your first cousin but be ready for the consequences it may give

No, the law won't allow it. It's because if you two procreate, there is a greater chance for genetic malformities. I believe legally, you can marry your 3rd cousin or something.

The genetic's are too closely matched.... would give potential for having children being born with a mild retardation.... The potential is there does not mean it will happen....
