the book is good. it is well written and a certified page turner. you wouldn't want to put it down as you read it. i read in over a weekend from saturday afternoon until the 3 pm of monday. hehe.
however, the book indicated and you will believe most of what you think were fact. although, the real stories behind those were different. anyway, that is why it is still a work of FICTION. if you would search for the truth regarding the Priory of Sion, the Knights Templar and others, the fact is really different from what is written on the book.

I enjoyed it--however I just read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown and liked that 100 times more than DaVinci Code.

The Da Vinci Code is a special, and subsequently a paintings of fiction. This, of direction, is okay in itself: all of us love fiction! the subject although is this: the author claims that it somewhat is in accordance with actual information. regrettably, they're in accordance along with his very own, subjective interpretations and convictions appropriate to the Christian faith. they're one guy's attempt to make his own evaluations bypass for information. in case you have self belief Christ and His Gospel of Saving Love, then it somewhat is a organic waste of time analyzing the Da Vinci Code. Our faith is in accordance with divine, revealed truths; the Da Vinci Code is in accordance with one guy's own aversion to Christianity. desire this facilitates.

the vinci code is a fiction. Leonardo da vinci was a painter who painted holly babies in which Jesus is kissing another same baby. people belive he was a naustic that means they don't believe jesus come back from death.they belive his holly soul come back.andkissing means to make contact with soul.every thing in the book is fiction.his code etc.because that type of group never existed. leonardo was not a warior, he was an artist so he could not become a chief of the group which protects jesus's family. he was a naustic that came in his paintings.

I enjoyed reading it ( but actually enjoyed Angels and Demons more!). It made me want to visit Italy to see the sights that he describes. I really don't care if it's factual or not; it's a work of fiction and it's a very interesting read. One of the best parts of it is that is does make you question alot of the things in it, to find out more about codes and Masons and things like that.

I really enjoyed it. I looked at it as a work of fiction, and thought it had interesting hypothetical historical implications, as well as neat references to museums, historical structures and art.
It had romance, action and mystery, and I enjoyed it very much. Have not seen the movie yet.
And, no, I do not believe it is a true story. I believe Dan Brown when he says it is a work of historical fiction. His other books are really good too.

Slate Magazine's review said the book should be titled, "How Not to Write a Sentence." Pedestrian writing, ridiculous plot devices, and Encyclopedia Brown level mysteries (backward handwriting? I mean, really!). It was a best seller because it hits the Catholic Church, talks about hedonistic sex as being religious, tells women that they've been persecuted, and gives the rabble a conspiracy to believe. One of the worst novels I ever read.

The Da Vinci code works by asking really simple riddles which even a trained marmoset could work out, and then giving you the answer almost right away. It is a book which flatters people with poor deductive skills by pretending to them that they are really clever. Most Agatha Christie novels (and P.D. James ones) do the same thing.
Books which allow stupid people to pretend that they are clever, ugly people to pretend that they are beautiful, or mean people to pretend that they are generous are always popular.

It is a great novel. I have read it three times, and each time I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Although it is not his best work, it is still pretty high on my favorite books ever list. :)
It is not meant to be factual. It is a FICTION book. It merely speculates on what could happen, not necessarily what will happen. It is just for fun.
