Do you think a married man and a single woman can be just best friends.

I'm a woman who has always gotten along better than guys. When your best friend gets married and he just happens to be a guy, well then you have a married man and a single woman. Being married doesn't change the relationship between them.

I will say one thing about men though, they generally are not friends with women that they don't find attractive. I think it's in the genes or something, lol.

Don't automatically assume something is going on, because only people who are immature can't be friends with someone of the opposite sex. Think of it this way, do you sleep with every single person you're attracted to? I would certainly hope not.

To sum it up, it is absolutely possible for a male and female to be platonic friends regardless of who is married.

Yep, my husbands best friend is a woman, i was skeptical at first, but my husband handled it correctly, im always on his arm when he's around her, he never goes over to her house alone, so there could never be any situation misunderstood, he made me her friend to, i adore her, and when they talk on the phone he tells me whats going on , and he told her from the get go to never tell him anything that he cant tell me because im his wife and he has no secrets from me, and she was totally cool with that.. he handled it so well that now that i know her, and i know him, even if he did go over there alone i trust him 100 percent with her.. and I dont trust any man or woman, so that says alottttttttttttt.. im super jealous.. but they've both proven to me over the years that they are what they are just friends, they've never had any type of romantic thing between them.. just strictly friends and were this way for years before i ever came into the picture.. so yes it can happen but only if it is handled correctly.. oh and she and he were both single for 3 years prior to me even meeting my husband, so they had many of opportunities to be romantic.. but never have, they are just platonic friends.. he even says she's in no way his type he looks at her more as a sister then anything..

that's a good question. But I do think it is possible,, if they are both very careful not to put themselves in situations where they might be tempted. Example working late alone together,, going to a movie alone together. Pretty much anything ALONE,, giggle.

And I think the one big thing is that there has to always be honesty,, if the wife is starting to question it or feeling jealous then she should be able to voice that. And it depends I think on how long they have known each other. If it's something brand new nad the hubby hasn't ever had a single female friend I would be weary,, you know what I am saying?

Honestly, I don't think a man and a woman can just be best friends. Usually there's always a chemistry and also attraction between the man and the woman to enable them to become "friends" as they called it....and that kind of friendship always lead to something more and dangerous.

A married man and a single woman could be asking for trouble. Especially if the wife doesn't know about it. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea.

absolutely! I am a single man and my best friend is a married woman. We know that we haven't sexualized the relationship so we don't have to have any guilt feelings about anything regardless of what some may think or suspect. It is a good way to live.

Maybe for a little while, but not continuously. Temptation will definitely be hard to resist, and the friendship may eventually end if it goes to the extreme. This is from a female who use to try that scenario with male friends, and most of the time had to back off as their friend in the long haul.

I think a man and a woman can be just friends but I think when one or the other is married its getting into dangerous territitory. Why cant he be best friends with his wife, shes a woman. cheating can be emotional as well as physical. Sometimes the emotional hurts even worse.

I think it is possible, but not likely. Most cases where there are commonalities (age, background, etc.), I believe that romance or romantic attraction will interfere w/ the friendship. In most cases, if you are a married man, you have female acquaintances that you are friendly to, but not best friends or even good friends. Especially if they're single.

Nope! It may be platonic on the womans part, but the man is always thinking "how can I get in her pants?".

Wish I had a dollar for every woman I slept with who told her man we were "just friends"!! LOL
