yes. i saw a program one time where behind the backet that you try to thow the softball into there is a spring so that the ball comes out and you don't get the prize. also if you notice the balloons aren't blown up all the way so the darts that are dull tipped anyway just bounce off. and if they are blown up all the way they are spaced farther apart so that the wind blows them around and you still don't get a prize. its all about the money

Yes the odds are stacked against you in all the games. Some are impossible to win, otheres are just more difficult than they seem. Some can be controlled by the operator so that on the first day of a fair there are some winners carrying around huge stuffed animals (they will be the cute girls) so other people see them and thing that they have a chance.

Yes, they are. The bottles you throw balls at are extra-heavy at the bottom and not completely empty, basketball rims are bent (and even if they weren't, the ceiling is too low to allow a good shot) - pretty much every carnival game is somehow rigged.

They either rig the game with illusions to make the target seem larger or smaller or they offer such a cheap prize that it wasn't worth the cost of playing.

I think they are too!! And, the basketball rims are oblong shaped instead of completely round. I don't play the games at fairs or carnivals anymore. THEY ARE SCAMS!

Of course. There is a book called "Eyeing the Flash" that tells some about how you do it. Flash is what they call the big prizes that are never won.
Also- three card monty is rigged too.

Yes, they are. On top of that the prizes are severely under valued compared to the cost to play.

A $1.00 game will only get you a $.50 prize, so it doesn't matter if you win or lose.

Yes, I have a book about that. Go to the basketball thing and look at the rims from the side. They are bent.

yes didn't you ever see Opie figure that one out on Mayberry? The rifle sites are crooked, the balls are weighted to be crooked, everything is a rip-off.
